Accessibility statement.

SportsOne is built to be read by everyone who needs to read it, including people using screen readers, keyboards, magnification, or a reduced-motion setting. This page states what conforms today, what does not yet, and how to tell us when something blocks you.

01

Our target

We hold this site to WCAG 2.2 Level AA, across all public pages, on desktop and mobile. That is the standard referenced by the ADA Title II web rule, Section 508, and EN 301 549.

02

Where we stand

We believe the site conforms to WCAG 2.2 Level AA, with the exceptions listed in section 04. An independent audit in September 2026 found nine issues; all nine have been fixed and verified.

03

What we have done

Every page has a main landmark, a skip link, and headings that follow a real outline. All interactive controls have accessible names and work from the keyboard, including the charts on the transactions report, which scroll with the arrow keys. Text meets a 4.5:1 contrast ratio, and the focus ring is visible on both dark and light panels. Diagrams either state their takeaway to a screen reader or are hidden as decorative. A Motion control in the navigation pauses every looping animation — the ticker, the diagrams and the charts that run continuously — and that motion is paused automatically when your system asks for reduced motion. Short one-off transitions, such as a panel opening, still play.

04

Known limitations

We would rather name these than imply the work is finished:

  • No screen-reader pass has been completed yet. Our fixes were verified against the markup and with automated tooling, not yet with NVDA and VoiceOver end to end. That pass is scheduled.
  • We have not tested with people who use assistive technology daily. No checklist substitutes for that, and it is the clearest gap in our evidence.
  • The animated canvas graphics are decorative. They are hidden from screen readers, and the information they illustrate is stated in the surrounding text. If you find a case where it is not, that is a bug and we want to hear about it.
  • The transactions report is dense. Its charts scroll horizontally at narrow widths, and its tables are long. Both are reachable by keyboard and labelled, but they remain harder work than the rest of the site.
  • Figures shown across the site are illustrative. That is a content decision, not an accessibility one, but it affects how the numbers should be read.
05

How we assess

The September 2026 review combined an external audit using axe-core with manual keyboard, focus-order, contrast, text-spacing, and 320-pixel reflow testing. Automated accessibility checks now run against every change before it ships, and we re-test by hand whenever a new page template is added.

Tell us what is broken

If any part of this site blocks you, email dev@athl.live. Tell us the page and what went wrong, and we will get back to you. Reports about a specific barrier take priority over everything else on this page.
